2025 Hydrofoil Bigair World Champion
Hi, I’m Hugo Wigglesworth. I’m 19 years old from New Zealand. I’ve been kitesurfing for over 10 years now, since my parents taught me in 2015 when I was just 8 years old.
Growing up, I did a mix of wind sport disciplines on the water, including Formula Kite racing, Big Air, and Winging, until 2024, when I started fully focusing on Big Air. Since I started kitesurfing, WOO has always been a platform that has helped push my Big Air level.
In September 2024, I broke the WOO World Record with a 36.7m jump in New Zealand. This achievement helped me to be able to compete in my first international Big Air competitions in 2025. I went on to win the 2025 Hydrofoil Big Air World Championship, and in December 2025, I broke the WOO World Record again with a 40.0 m jump, becoming the first person ever to break the 40m barrier on WOO.
This year, I’ll be competing again in international Big Air competitions, using WOO to push my limits in height and progression in every training session.
